How companionship can reduce loneliness and isolation

Loneliness is one of the most significant issues faced by too many elderly people in the UK. It can be difficult for busy families to juggle work and life as well as visiting family members, often leaving families wishing they could visit more.

Companionship is not about taking away independence, it’s about so much more its about building meaningful relationships, connections and sharing moments of happiness.

Studies show that loneliness comes with health risks such as

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Accelerated cognitive decline

  • Reduced mobility

  • Reduced motivation to eat well, exercise or move.

Many people can fall through a gap of still being physically able to move around independently and not requiring personal care, but suffering from loneliness.

This is where we come in, we are not carers, we are home helpers, we provide social support and practical support to aid daily living.

Whatever that may look like for you.
